7. The needle should be passed from the thinner to the thicker side.

8. The needle should be passed from the deeper to the superficial side.

9. The knot should be placed away from incision line.

4. The suture should be placed at equal distance from both cut ends, approximately 2-3 mm.

5. If the edges are at different levels. Passing of the suture closer to the edge of the lower side and further from the edge of the higher side.

6. The needle should always be passed from free flap to the fixed tissue.

  1. The needle should be placed approximately 1/4 from its threaded end. Any closer to the suture will cause its breakage .
